Re: Sending messages to JZZ.synth.OSC

JZZ.synth.OSC is more like a demo synth, there are many MIDI messages it does not understand.
But I guess the allNotesOff message will be easy to add to the next release.

Re: Linux plugin only returns Virtual MIDI ports

Jazz-Plugin excludes the MIDI-Through from the list. Do you think those are of any use for web applications?
About the TiMidity ports - does aconnect -lo see them?

Re: Linux plugin only returns Virtual MIDI ports

Current version of Jazz-Plugin sees only ALSA MIDI ports.

Re: Playing base64 strings in Node to external devices

It will take me some time to write a working example.
Do you really need to pack your MIDI messages into the file and then unpack them?
Why don't send the messages directly to the player?

Re: Playing base64 strings in Node to external devices

JZZ.Midi.js and JZZ.MidiFile.js are a bit outdated. Try to use JZZ.js instead.
If you are doing your own time management, call port.send(...) to play messages.

Re: VB.net 2012 - Errors

I'm afraid the old project is outdated, but I don't have VB.net 2012 to test. I assume you already have Jazz-Plugin installed. Try to create a new VB project, then find Jazz-Plugin object in VB menus and add it to the project. The rest of the code should be pretty much the same. PS: I am going to mo...

Firefox bug in Linux

There was quite a nasty bug in some old versions of Firefox in Linux: it attached wrong buttons flags to the mouseup event. I saw the problem in v.41, but they have already fixed it by v.47. Just for case, the latest release of JZZ-modules has a workaround for the problem. Please update your scripts.

Linux: no sound - solution

I have just spotted an interesting problem on my Ubuntu: the default MIDI-Out port is a dummy Midi Through Port-0 that produces no sound. To see the list of ports, run aconnect -o You can disable the dummy port by running sudo rmmod snd_seq_dummy or/and filter it out in JavaScript with a RegEx: var ...

Re: JZZ-modules

MIDI.js is very resource-intensive, I'd not recommend it for web application. The demo is mostly how to adopt third-party libraries into JZZ framework. Timbre does not seem to work on iOS either. I'm afraid JZZ.synth.OSC is the only option at the moment. I'm planning to release a new version with mo...
