Re: strange right requested, when installing Jazz-MIDI on Ch

Thank you for your concern! There is some data exchange between the content and background scripts, implemented by writing and reading in the invisible <div> on the page. You can check the source code in http://jazz-soft.net/download/Jazz-Plugin/1.5.1/jazz-midi.zip Please let me know if you have any...

Re: Firefox 52 does not seem to accept the plugin 1-5

Mozilla approval process happened to be more painful than I expected.
You can download it for manual install at http://jazz-soft.net/download/Jazz-Plugin/1.5.1/

Re: Jazz.MidiOutOpen is not a function

Unfortunately, after Chrome and Mozilla dropped NPAPI support, Jazz-Plugin API does not work in these browsers any longer.
Please switch to JZZ.js API - that is intended to be compatible with old and new browsers.

Re: stop, pause button

A little improvement for the code above:

Code: Select all

function stop(){
  player.allNotesOff(0);
  player._break();
}
(This requires the latest version of JZZ-modules)

Re: stop, pause button

Here is a simple example using MIDI-Thru object ( http://jazz-soft.net/doc/JZZ/midithru.html ) <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="requiresActiveX=true"/> <title>My first Piano Book</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="JZZ.js"></script> <script type="text...

Raspberry PI is currently not supported, but that's a great idea for the future development.

Re: Firefox 52 does not seem to accept the plugin 1-5

The problem is solved! You need to - install a new version of Jazz-Plugin: http://jazz-soft.net/download/Jazz-Plugin/ - install a Firefox Add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/jazz-midi/ - use the latest version of JZZ.js on your website: https://github.com/jazz-soft/JZZ The add-on ...

Re: Firefox 52 does not seem to accept the plugin 1-5

Unfortunately, Firefox 52 dropped support for NPAPI plugins. For a while, you can stay with Firefox 51 or Firefox 45 ESR as explained below: http://www.ghacks.net/2017/02/03/firefox-52-how-to-keep-on-plugins/ Older versions of Firefox are available from Mozilla's site: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/fi...

Re: Reverse Chord Finder for MIDI enabled guitar.

It's an interesting project, though there may be some challenging tasks.
I'd suggest you use JZZ.js rather than pure Jazz-Plugin - for better browser coverage.

A notice for Electron developers

For those who'd like to use JZZ in their Node/Electron projects:
Don't include jzz as dependency in package.json. Instead, just load JZZ.js and other required scripts via the <script> tag in your html files.

Re: Sending messages to JZZ.synth.OSC

JZZ.synth.OSC is more like a demo synth, there are many MIDI messages it does not understand.
But I guess the allNotesOff message will be easy to add to the next release.

Jazz-Plugin excludes the MIDI-Through from the list. Do you think those are of any use for web applications?
About the TiMidity ports - does aconnect -lo see them?

Current version of Jazz-Plugin sees only ALSA MIDI ports.
