Re: Sysex problems on windows 7

Thanks for the confirmation. I did make adjustments in my script, but I just wanted to make sure that this is how it is supposed to work!

Re: Sysex problems on windows 7

I tried QueryMidiIn(), and I have a new problem! I'm sending out my requests according to a timer, every 10ms just to be conservative. For the purposes of testing, I send these 4 messages, 10ms apart (in reality, it could be up to 20-30 of these messages): 240,0,1,97,7,7,4,247 240,0,1,97,7,7,8,247 2...

Re: Sysex problems on windows 7

It's just a livid controller, a USB class compliant device. It's not the hardware - I can do the same activity on my mac and it has no problems, but i have issues on mac in parallels windows 7 and on my windows machine. The issue couldn't be duplicated in a few tries on another laptop running WINE w...

Sysex problems on windows 7

I'm having erratic issues with sysex on windows 7. Sometimes it behaves well, other times not. It's sort of like starting an old car that has been sitting for a while - maybe I just need some carb cleaner and a bit of gas to prime it? My application at http://www.lividserver.com/editor/ sends a bunc...

Re: Model ID SysEx

All Livid and Livid Brain-derived products follow this format: F0 7E ch 06 02 00 01 MFG 01 00 PID 00 v1h v2h v3h v4h F7h ch is current channel v1-4 are firmware version numbers. For Livid Products: MFG = 61 (97) PID: 01 = Brain v1 DIY 02 = Ohm64 03 = block 04 = Code 05 n/a 06 n/a 07 = OhmRGB 08 = CN...

Re: Third-party projects using Jazz-Plugin

This is an example of UI elements created in RafaelJS (http://raphaeljs.com/). It also makes slight use of Jquery, just because it unifies mouse behavior nicely. http://lividserver.com/miditest/ These knobs and buttons send MIDI out when changed with the mouse, and respond to MIDI input. This is sor...

Obscure problem with widows XP port names

I came across this issue recently, and thought I'd share a workaround. If you are using class-compliant MIDI devices on Windows XP, they are named "USB Audio Device." This is fine in English, but, for example, French language XP reports it as "Périphérique audio USB". When you list the port names in...

Re: Sysex "handshake" loop

I just tried the handshake loop on a couple other browsers on mac: works great on FF 17.01 and Chrome 23.0.1271.101, so it does seem to be Safari specific.
Thanks!

Re: Sysex "handshake" loop

by the way, I've tried delaying my "cmdout()" function call (line 108):
`var output = setTimeout(function(){ cmdout(req) },55);`
and it helps, but is no guarantee that it will get through all 21 requests/response pairs

Sysex "handshake" loop

I'm having issues with using incoming sysex messages to trigger a new outgoing sysex message. I'm using a Livid Code to try this out, but getting a lot of hangs in my browser. The basic idea is that I need to get all the settings that are on the Code and store them in an array. To do this, I need to...

Re: New release v.1.2 - SysEx messages

Interesting! Ok. For the record, I'm using the USB MIDI class compliant drivers. Usually these are better behaved on Mac than windows, but perhaps in this case, it's not so!
I'll update and see if it behaves better in the next couple of days.

Re: New release v.1.2 - SysEx messages

I've been having some problems with long sysex messages from my Livid Code getting broken up into 2-3 separate arrays. I haven't seen this in other apps. Midi Monitor shows the sysex from the Code as a single message (one timestamp). It's hard to provide an example - if it would be helpful, I can ta...

OS X lion?

I pointed a friend to the plugin yesterday - he had no luck getting it running. "Basically, can't get Jazz installed on my machine, it just totally hangs. Might be a Lion thing."
Wondering if anyone else has tried Lion?

Re: SysEx messages

GREAT! I just downloaded 1.2, and it's sending long sysex strings. I tried a few, including one 189 bytes long, and they all worked. Thanks much for the quick fix. This could get interesting!
