Re: e-UniverCity.com Projects

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the midiinputprovider. Since your FF correctly reports the port names, all other functions should work too. There may be one reason for not been able to open the hardware ports: When you use the standard WebMIDI in Chrome, it captures all MIDI devices so that no...

Re: e-UniverCity.com Projects

As I see from the above output, your MIDI setup works fine. Congratulations!
Now try to go through the examples at https://jazz-soft.net/demo/

Don't worry about the npmjs.com links in your previous post - most of that stuff is for command-line Node.js applications, not for browsers.

Re: e-UniverCity.com Projects

Which browser/OS did you use?
Do you have the plugin installed?
Please check the instructions, there may be some additional steps.

Re: e-UniverCity.com Projects

Hi Steve, You are doing a great job! I too had a Proteus long time ago. What a wonderful time that was... Instead of directly using the plugin, try the JZZ.js library - it supports both the native WebMIDI Api where available, and the plugin in older browsers, and it works in the latest Firefox too. ...

Re: MIDI onstatechange counterpart in JZZ.js

We don't have this feature in the current version, but it's a great idea to implement in the future.

What you can do now - is to periodically call the refresh() function.

And thank you for the idea!

Jazz-soft.org have migrated to a new server

This forum was not working properly for the last couple of days due to migration to a new host.

It seems to work fine now, but please let me know if you notice something funny.

Thanks and sorry for inconvenience!

Minor API change in JZZ.js v.0.4.0

There was a very minor API change in JZZ.js v.0.4.0:
engine name 'crx' changed to 'extension', since Chrome Web Extension is no longer the only one supported.
Please see the details at http://jazz-soft.net/doc/JZZ/jzz.html

Wow! Thanks a lot for your contribution!
The changes look reasonable, but I think I need a little more time to have a closer look...

Re: How can I detect, if the plugin is deactivated?

Look at the page source for https://jazz-soft.github.io/modules/index.html If the plugin is installed and active, there will be a MIDI device with (depending on browser) engine == "crx" or engine == "plugin". I don't think there is a way to distinguish between the cases when plugin is "not installed...

Re: JZZ.js/Jazz-MIDI addon/plugin not working (Firefox 57/Wi

Strage... Seems to work fine with all devices I tried to connect.
https://jazz-soft.github.io/modules/jzz-crx.html
I have Firefox v.57.0 64-bit on Windows 10 Home 1709

Wonder if there is some issue with your device driver...
Did you try to connect other devices to your PC?

Re: JZZ.js/Jazz-MIDI addon/plugin not working (Firefox 57/Wi

It looks like both FF and Chrome see the "USB Midi" device.
Can it be that FF cannot open the device because it is already open by Chrome or another application?

Perhaps the fastest solution for you would be to take the old code and modify it.
